Relationship between Spirituality and Religion
Although a majority number of people around the world would explain spirituality mostly in terms of religious beliefs and religious practice of rituals, the actual perception of spiritual journey is not limited to only the religious beliefs. It is mainly because the true sense of spirituality is not nurtured fully in the context of religion or religious practice. So, it is evident that the appreciation of spirituality and religious belief are not synonymous. The fundamental difference is that spirituality is our fundamental character, but religion is not. The integral manifestation of an individual self's wholeness is a subject of choice. This is only enabled with the spiritual understanding and spiritual exploration of self. Another difference lies in the way of expression, where religion has its own way or words for expression, but spirituality has not. Spirituality is a deep-rooted personalized experience which has a dynamic sense of self and manifestation.
Religion, on the other hand, is somehow biased by the influence of culture and time, whereas, spirituality is something that is beyond the limitation of culture and time. It is not all influenced by any geographical boundaries even, since spirituality is a deep-rooted understanding and basically a quest for knowing the unknown inner-self. In that sense, religion, to some extent, acts as a mode of communication between outer self and inner self. Religion is a mode of exploration – a way ofrealization the truth, but the impact of spirituality and its understanding has a much wider impact as a whole. When we quest for life and its origin, religion is sometimes not able to speak out, but spirituality is definitely the final answer.
Understanding God from Spiritual Perspective
When we put an effort in understanding the God, some of us may differ in rationalizing the concept of God from religious perspective. But if you consider it from spiritual perspective, God is a force that connects you to your inner self only, because G.O.D is Good Orderly Direction. God is a higher belief located in our inner soul. In that sense, practically soul of a being represents the essence of God and this is why our souls are eternally joyful, accepting, grateful, loving and blessing. Spiritualism allows us to keep our body and mind in the same alignment where the deep inner persona of our being is established. God, as defined from the spiritual perspective, is a source of pure energy and pure joy. This is the energy and joy that are responsible for developing life – a form of ultimate happiness, also referred to as blissful peace.
According to spiritualistic belief, God entails us pure love. It has an absolutely loving nature. God is in love with every thing, since God is so stimulated with itself. There is nothing beyond the existence of God, there is thus virtually nothing that is not God, so everything about that God is so happy actually exists with God itself and particularly it exists within God, an ultimate happiness rules. Since God has an eternal loving nature, God has its love with the life itself. Since God is characterized as the phenomena of love. Pure love is absolutely unconditional. It never expects anything in return. So when a being is in love and spends his time with joyfulness, it means God exists in him. This is where basic realization and framework of spirituality takes place.
