Meditation from Spiritual Perspective

Four Degrees of Meditation

Since we all are entitled to get in touch with our Higher Power since we born into this materialistic world, so this is our natural instinct that draws us once we take interest in spiritual journey. There are basically four different degrees of meditation that allows you to obtain this Higher Connection. The first degree of meditation can be defined as walking meditation. Walking meditation is something that virtually anyone can practice on the surface of earth. When we are practicing walking meditation, we are basically engaging all of our five senses to become stimulated. This type of meditation does not allow the rhythm of tranquility and will not allow you to reach at the spirit of self-wisdom and self-realization. Walking meditation is something that involves physical action which is accompanied by breathing exercises and other several kinds of exercising.

In the second degree of meditation, you can attain a state of mindfulness meditation, where you will be able to initiate inward journey with the virtue of higher level of concentration and attention, since these two aspects are characterized as the outward expression of the soul. During this phase, yogic postures and other holistic stimulations can help to heighten the spiritual condition of mind, body and soul. While practicing mindfulness meditation, you will be able to guide your outer mind to take a journey to the direction of inner mind. During this meditative phase, you need to stay motionlessly and need to follow how the endless stream of distractive thoughts throughout the normal consciousness. You have to practice silence and motionlessness during this time, which is quite different than the practices that you have done during walking meditation.

The next degree is known as illumination or enlightenment meditation. This phase is characterized by dramatic shift to the higher level of consciousness. During this phase, you will attain an absolute state of calmness and serenity everywhere. You will experience an inner light inside you and all your thoughts, which were previously distracted, become directed to the source of spiritual light. This light will allow you to clear all your darkness inside, which is basically a superficial manifestation of materialistic ignorance. During this phase, you may utter the mantra 'OM!' which will directly come from your naval area. When you attain this stage, you can experience the state of absolute calmness accompanied by the color of cosmological force.

In the fourth degree, you will attain deep contemplation where you will experience absolute stillness and silence. This phase is also accompanied by out of body experiences and you will be absolutely aligned with Higher Power. During this Super Conscious state, you will be able to experience a spiritual journey by virtue of the power of enlightenment and absolute serenity and gradually be aligned with the Higher Power with true essence. However, only a few people can actually reach to this level of spirituality.
