Spirituality

Spirituality is the study of spirit and the spiritual phenomena. It is a philosophical concept. In fact, it is defined in the plane of metaphysical perspective as well. Spirit can be defined as one point of reality if we consider reality as a triad. The other points of reality are mentality and sensuality. The mentality is referred as the persona of mind, where sensuality as the persona of senses or body. Together these three points combine to create the reality and reality is a metaphor of spirituality or spiritualism. If you look at the study of spirituality from a narrower or fundamental perspective, spirituality can be defined as the connection of mind to body or higher sense of consciousness to the materialistic existence. It is believed that the spirit matters are the final manifestation of any living organism, the ultimate nature, which binds the time to the material world and space.

The Core

If we think about the core of the spirituality, we can see that a perceived sense of association between spiritual characters to the material character is established. This is indeed an association with higher sense of reality or a metaphysical reality which is greater than an individual soul and can be characterized by an emotional experience beyond the subjective dimension of any sort of religious belief or understanding. In simple words, the understanding of spirituality or spiritualism is not limited into religious understanding or religious rituals, but it is an extended form of reality which is actually engrossed in each and every activity that may become associated with our existence, both intrinsically and extrinsically.

The Complexity

When we consider the spiritualistic perspective, it becomes complex to perceive life and overall existence, since it covers reality not in a limited form as we perceive from our daily and worldly experience. Spirituality, the higher sense of reality, is an instinctual form of existence, or can be labeled as meta-existence, integrates several components of conscious, subconscious and unconscious paradigm. Spiritualism in that sense can be defined as an omnipotent medium that connects a personal self to a higher self or truth-consciousness. While understanding the higher self, we need to transcendent our personal self in a step by step fashion. These steps are no way similar to any of our daily chores or activities.
